Shopify Product Review Apps Compared

Avis

Avis and 5 other Shopify apps, compared

Verdict. No app here wins on every count. Judge.me has by far the most reviews and the broadest free plan, Loox, Yotpo and Okendo cap their free plans by orders and Stamped has none, and Avis Product Reviews, which we build, has one price, Free, with no order limit, but is new and doesn't sync with the Shop app.

What is the best review app for Shopify?

There is no single best review app for Shopify: they differ most in free-plan order limits, which features each free plan includes, which apps they import from and whether they sync with the Shop app. This page compares six apps from their own listings and help centres, ordered by review count, as they read on 4 November 2026.

We build Avis Product Reviews, a Shopify app that collects photo and video reviews and imports them from other review apps, so weigh this page with that in mind. It ranks nothing: the tables list the apps by how many reviews their App Store listings show, which puts Avis, launched in October 2026, last. Every source is linked under Sources.

How were the apps chosen?

Shopify lists five partner review apps that sync with Shop product reviews: Judge.me, Loox, Okendo, Stamped and Yotpo (Shopify Help Center: syncing Shop product reviews with partner apps, checked 4 November 2026). This page compares those five and Avis, which isn’t on that list. Other review apps exist, some with many reviews, and aren’t covered here.

In the tables, “Not stated” means the listing or help page doesn’t say, which isn’t the same as “can’t”. We read each listing’s description, feature list and plans and the help pages linked under Sources, not screenshots, and didn’t install the other apps. Avis’s cells come from the app itself. Prices are left out because they change: check each listing, or Avis’s pricing.

Do you need an app at all?

Yes, to show reviews on your own product pages. Shopify has no review feature for the online store: Shop collects reviews from your buyers inside the Shop app, and your theme can display star ratings, but neither puts reviews on your store by itself.

If you want to Shopify’s own option What it won’t do
Collect reviews from buyers Shop product reviews: after delivery, Shop asks your buyers to review what they bought, in the Shop app Put those reviews on your store without a partner app
Share reviews with Shop both ways One of the five partner apps above: Shop’s reviews can show on your store with a Verified by Shop badge, and the app’s reviews in Shop Show reviews moved between partner apps with a CSV file, or uploaded from one, in Shop
Show stars in your theme The standard reviews.rating and reviews.rating_count fields, which themes such as Dawn read Collect a single review: an app fills them
Use Shopify’s own review app None: its listing says “This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store.” —

If reviews inside the Shop app matter to your sales, that narrows the choice to the five partner apps; Avis isn’t one. More on Shopify’s side: how to add product reviews to Shopify.

How do the apps compare at a glance?

Four of the six Shopify review apps cap their free plan by orders or have none: Loox’s free plan covers up to 500 orders, Yotpo’s and Okendo’s 50 orders a month, and Stamped has no free plan. Judge.me’s free plan states no order limit, and Avis’s listing shows one price, Free; its limits are on emails and AI, not orders.

App Free plan Priced by order volume Rating and review count (4 November 2026)
Judge.me “Forever Free”, with “Unlimited product and store reviews”; no order limit stated Not stated 5.0 from 49,580
Loox “Beginner”: “Up to 500 orders” Yes: its Convert plan includes 300 orders and charges for each 300 more 4.9 from 10,024
Yotpo “Up to 50 Monthly Orders”; its help centre adds “up to 500 outgoing emails” Yes: “Pricing changes based on order volume” 4.8 from 4,630
Stamped None; the lowest plan covers “up to 200 orders a month” Yes: its four plans differ only in order limit 4.7 from 3,749
Okendo “Up to 50 orders/month” Yes: its listed plans cover 200, 1,500 and 3,500 orders 4.8 from 1,447
Avis One price, Free: every feature, with up to 2,000 review request emails a month (reminders don’t count) and 200 AI tasks a day No No reviews yet

Which features come free?

Video reviews, questions and answers, and review data for Google are where the plans differ most. Judge.me’s free plan includes video reviews and rich snippets but not questions and answers; Loox and Yotpo charge for video, and Yotpo for rich snippets too; Avis has all three free, along with its Google Shopping reviews feed.

App Video reviews Questions and answers Google rich snippets Google Shopping reviews Store ratings in Google
Judge.me Free Paid: “Available on the Awesome plan” Free Paid, “for stores with at least 50 eligible reviews” No: “we do not support adding Store Ratings”
Loox Paid: the Convert plan Not stated Free Paid: “available on the Convert plan and up” No: “We do not currently support an integration with Google Seller Ratings.”
Yotpo Paid, photos too: “Collect Photos/Video” starts on its Starter plan Paid: not on Free or Starter, says its help centre Paid: “Google Rich Snippets” Paid: “Google Shopping Ads” Paid: “Google Seller Rating”
Stamped Every plan: “Photo and video UGC collection” Offered; plan not stated Offered (“rich snippets for SEO”); plan not stated Offered; plan not stated Needs Stamped’s NPS feature switched on
Okendo Offered; plan not stated Paid: “Q&A Widget”, from the 1,500-order plan Free: “Google SEO Snippets” Paid: from the 1,500-order plan An add-on, or included with Enterprise
Avis Free Free Free: the Avis app embed adds Product structured data Free: a feed for Merchant Center No

Rich snippets are the review data in your product pages that can make them eligible for stars in Google’s results; Google decides whether to show them (why stars don’t show in Google). Google Shopping reviews are a separate feed for Google’s Product Ratings programme, which needs at least 50 reviews before you can join (product ratings in Google Shopping).

What can each app import and export?

Every app here can take in reviews from a file, but they read files differently: Loox and Okendo recognise other apps’ exports, Judge.me and Yotpo match a file’s columns to their own fields, and Stamped wants its own template, or its team does the move for you. What an export carries matters as much, because a new app can only bring in what the old app’s file holds.

App Takes reviews from What its export carries Shares reviews with Shop
Judge.me Any CSV or Excel file, its columns matched, on the free plan; its listing also names Yotpo, Loox, Amazon, Etsy and AliExpress A CSV file with photos and replies, but no videos, verified status or order details Yes, both ways, on the free plan
Loox Judge.me, Yotpo, Okendo, Shopify Product Reviews, Stamped, Reviews.io, Junip and AliExpress, or a file of your own A CSV file; its help page lists no columns Yes, both ways, on the free plan
Yotpo Any CSV file, its columns matched to Yotpo’s fields (a template is offered), on every plan, in a self-service importer its help centre marks Beta; photos and videos only on higher plans, and Verified Buyer status only on Premium and Enterprise A CSV file by email, with photo and video links, reviewer type and order ID; questions and answers can’t be exported Yes, both ways, on its Free, Starter, Pro and Premium plans
Stamped Its team “migrates your reviews for you”; its own importer takes reviews from any source in a CSV file laid out as its template, with up to 3 photos and 1 video per review A download of the reviews you filter, emailed above 50 reviews; a full export goes through its support team; columns not stated Yes, both ways, on by default
Okendo Files from ten services, among them Yotpo, Stamped, Loox, Judge.me and Junip A CSV file by email, with photo and video links, verified buyer status and replies Yes, both ways
Avis Exports of 20 review apps, the five here among them, and any CSV file whose columns you match; no marketplace importer A CSV file of every review in every status, with its source, verification and moderation details, plus a list of photo and video links No

Whichever app you move to, photos and videos travel as links that the new app has to fetch, and Shopify says reviews moved between partner apps with a CSV file, or uploaded from one, aren’t eligible to show in the Shop app. Step-by-step exports for the five: export reviews from your old app; the whole move: switch review apps without losing reviews.

Where is each app stronger?

Each app suits some stores better than the others, Avis included.

  • The broadest free plan. Judge.me: unlimited reviews, photo and video reviews, rich snippets, two-way Shop sync and an importer, with no order limit stated, from the app with by far the most reviews here.
  • Marketplace reviews. Judge.me’s listing names Amazon, Etsy and AliExpress among its importer’s sources, and Loox’s help centre names AliExpress. Avis has no marketplace importer: marketplace reviews reach it only inside another app’s export, without a verified label.
  • Reviews in the Shop app. All five other apps are partners Shopify lists for Shop and share reviews with it both ways. Avis isn’t, so reviews customers leave in the Shop app don’t appear on your store through it.
  • More than reviews in one app. Okendo’s listing, named for reviews and loyalty, lists integrations with Shop, TikTok, Google, Klaviyo, Walmart “and 50+ 3rd party apps”. Loox’s higher plans add AI features, bundles and review syndication to Google, Meta and TikTok.
  • Store ratings in Google. Yotpo lists “Google Seller Rating” among its paid features, Okendo sells it as an add-on, and Stamped ties it to its NPS feature. Judge.me, Loox and Avis don’t offer it.
  • Someone to move your reviews. Stamped’s team “migrates your reviews for you”.
  • Questions and answers without paying. Avis has them free. Judge.me, Yotpo and Okendo charge for them, Stamped doesn’t say on which plan, and Loox’s listing doesn’t mention them.
  • No order limit and nothing to pay. Avis: its listing shows one price, Free, covering every feature, and its limits are 2,000 review request emails a month, with reminders not counted, and 200 AI tasks a day (Avis’s free plan and limits). It is new, with no reviews on its listing yet.

Whichever you choose, keep one app sending review requests at a time, so no customer is asked twice for the same order.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free review app for Shopify?

Yes. Judge.me’s free plan has unlimited reviews and no order limit stated, Loox’s covers up to 500 orders, Yotpo’s and Okendo’s up to 50 orders a month, and Avis’s listing shows one price, Free. Stamped has no free plan.

What is the best alternative to Judge.me or Loox?

It depends on why you’re leaving. For the Shop app, stay with a partner app; for cost as your orders grow, compare the free-plan limits above. Before you move, check the export: Judge.me’s leaves out videos, verified status and order details, and Loox’s help page doesn’t list what its file holds. Loox reads Judge.me’s files, Okendo recognises both apps’ files, and Avis reads both.

Do my Shop app reviews come with me when I switch?

Not through a file. Shopify says reviews moved between partner apps with a CSV file aren’t eligible to show in the Shop app, and its page doesn’t say what happens to the reviews Shop collected when you leave a partner app, so ask your old app first. Avis isn’t a partner app: see what happens to Shop app reviews.

Avis Product Reviews App

Avis Product Reviews is a Shopify app that collects photo and video reviews after each order and imports your reviews from another review app, with the photos its file links to. Labels tell shoppers which reviews were matched to an order, rewarded or added by the store, and Avis never hides a review because of its rating.
