cPixel Plans: Orders, Pausing, Trials and Cancelling
Which cPixel plan do I need?
Pick the cPixel plan whose monthly order allowance covers your Shopify store’s paid orders. Plans differ in orders, not platforms or accounts, and paid plans add more Live sessions, Reconciliation and resending. On Free, server sends pause when the month’s orders are used while browser tracking carries on; paid plans never pause server sends.
Prices, allowances and the free trial are listed under Current plans at the end of this page.
| Free | Starter and Growth | Scale | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Server-side sending | Pauses at the allowance until the month resets or you upgrade | Never pauses | Never pauses |
| Past the allowance | Browser tracking continues | Live and Reconciliation lock after 72 hours | Nothing locks |
| Live | Fewer sessions a day, a lifetime total and an event cap | More sessions a day, no event cap | Same as Starter |
| Reconciliation and Resend event | — | Yes | Yes |
| Order count resets | Each calendar month (UTC) | Every 30 days from your subscription | Same as Starter |
Every plan gets all seven platforms, the same account limits, Event quality, alerts and order rules. When this period’s orders already exceed your plan, the Plan page marks the smallest plan that covers them Recommended. If everything you’ve connected sends only from the browser, as Google Ads does, the page tells you a paid plan wouldn’t change anything.
Note: On Free, Home and Destinations can label an account’s Server leg Off · paid, or Test only for TikTok. That label is out of date: Free sends real server-side events within its allowance, and Live shows them as sent from Server.
What counts as an order?
In the app’s words, “Your allowance counts orders, not events — an order counts once however many platforms it reaches.” Each paid order from your online checkout that cPixel sends as a purchase counts once, whatever the number of platforms and accounts.
- Orders cPixel skips, such as test, cancelled or excluded zero-value orders, never count.
- POS, draft and API orders count only if you switch on Also track orders taken outside your online checkout (order rules).
- Browser tracking is never metered, and Google Ads alone never counts, because nothing goes from cPixel’s servers.
Home and Plan show how many orders you’ve used and when the count resets. On Free, your first days after installing have no order cap, and a separate monthly limit on server sends applies even then; both are in the table below.
What happens when I reach my allowance?
You’re warned in the app at 80% and 95%, and the meter on Home turns red from 95%. On Free, server sends pause at the allowance until the month resets or you upgrade, and cPixel emails you. Paid plans never pause: Starter and Growth lock Live and Reconciliation after 72 hours past the allowance, and Scale never locks.
| Plan | At the allowance | What keeps running |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Server sends pause at once; a critical alert is emailed | Browser tracking: Meta gets a browser Purchase instead, and the Google Ads tag still fires |
| Starter and Growth | A warning, then after 72 hours Live and Reconciliation lock until you move up a plan or a new cycle starts | All sending |
| Scale | A note that nothing is paused | Everything |
On Free, platforms that receive purchases only from cPixel’s server, such as TikTok and GA4, get none during the pause; those purchases are held for later.
Are paused purchases sent later?
Partly. During a Free pause cPixel keeps each paid order’s ID for 7 days, and sends those purchases when you move to a plan with a bigger allowance or when the month resets, to each platform only while its window is open:
- Meta: within 48 hours of the order. Meta already has a browser Purchase for it and deduplicates only within 48 hours, so a later copy would count twice.
- GA4: within 72 hours, as far back as Google lets an event be dated.
- Other platforms: within their own time limits.
Anything older is listed in Needs your attention with the platforms it couldn’t reach. One order is an exception: the first one held had no browser Purchase, because your storefront hadn’t yet started sending one from the browser, so unless it’s replayed within 48 hours, Meta never receives it.
How do trials, upgrades and cancelling work?
Paid plans are Shopify app subscriptions, billed in US dollars every 30 days on your Shopify bill. Your first paid plan starts with a free trial, once per store. You start, change and cancel plans on cPixel’s Plan page.
Starting or changing a plan
- Open Plan in cPixel.
- To move up, click Choose Starter, Choose Growth or Choose Scale; to move down between paid plans, click Switch to and the plan’s name. A toast says Opening Shopify’s approval screen…
- Approve the charge on Shopify’s screen. You return to Plan on the new plan.
The trial counts as used as soon as cPixel opens Shopify’s approval screen with it, even if you close that screen without approving. During it, Plan shows Free trial — ends and the date.
Moving between paid plans replaces your subscription, and Shopify prorates the difference; your order count carries over. In Shopify admin, Settings → Billing → View current charges lists the charge. There is one charge per 30 days, with no usage fees, no fee per pixel and no yearly billing.
Cancelling
- On Plan, click Cancel plan on your current plan, or Move to Free on the Free plan.
- In Cancel your plan?, click Cancel plan. Keep my plan closes the dialog instead.
The paid plan ends straight away, Shopify credits the unused part of the period, and your store is back on Free, still sending server-side within Free’s allowance. A toast says Plan cancelled.
Important: The dialog says server-side tracking stops “at the end of the period you’ve paid for”. That’s out of date: the change is immediate, with a credit, and server sends continue within Free’s allowance.
Uninstalling cPixel cancels future charges too, but Shopify notes you might still be billed for the current cycle, so cancel in cPixel first.
